Description of the "HMS Nautilus"
The charm of the "HMS Nautilus" are captured in the details
of this authentic Dalmation stone house, restored by our "Captain"
Ivica Propadolo. When one enters the house you are immediately caught
up in the story in which it tells. If you are not of lover of the
sea you will be when you leave. The "HMS Nautilus" has
three separate floors and all together 75 square meters which is
comfortable living space for 3 people. (There is also enough space
for a child's travel bed.)
The house is ideally located in the historical center of Betina,
in the pedestrian zone, and approximately 100 meters from the sea
and Betina's harbour. In Betina's harbour and main centre, you can
find cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, newspaper kiosks, the post-office,
an ice-cream shop and the local butcher (who comes highly recommended!)
This is also where you may park your car once you have unloaded
your belongings.
The ground floor of the "HMS Nautilus" resembles the
hull of a small fishing ship. In this open room, you find a superbly
fitted kitchen and a cozy dining area where you can spend countless
hours relaxing, eating and drinking or just looking around at all
the nicks and nacks on the surrounding walls and shelves. Even the
storage closet compliments the room with its port-hole window, and
a bathroom with WC round-out the "hull" of the Nautilus.
The bedroom on the first floor gives one the image of entering
the stately captain's quarters of an old steamship. The ornate wooden
frame around the double bed complements the large wooden closet,
chest and chairs, although they are from different centuries. The
bedroom has air conditioning and plenty of space which allows room
for a child's travel bed to be set up if needed. A modern and tasteful
bathroom with shower and WC is also on this floor, all newly renovated.
On the second floor is a small room with a single bed and closet.
You enter the terrace (8 square meters) from this floor which is
a true highlight of the "HMS Nautilus" and where there
is an abundance of sunshine. In true "Betinan" style enjoy
relaxing and grilling on the rooftop where you have a beautiful
view of the red-rooftops of Betina as well as spectacular orange
Dalmatian sunsets. The terrace is equipped with grill, dining and
terrace furniture.
In Betina's harbour you can rent sailing or motorboats or organize
excursions to the Kornati Islands. Betina also has a local diving
shop which operates dives around Murter and the Kornati.
Murter offers several beaches, varying from pebble, concrete as
well as sand. The beaches on Murter are recognized as "blue
flag" beaches which signify the highest water quality seal
one receives on the Adriatic.
The house "HMS Bounty" located a few meters away from
the "HMS Nautilus" makes a holiday with friends or family
ideal. Each house offers private comfort and amenities, while offering
the ability to be right next store. If you are interested in renting
