Description of the "HMS Bounty"
The HMS Bounty is an authentic Dalmation old-stone house which
has been restored with careful and loving detail. The highlight
of the HMS Bounty is the courtyard which is the "life"
of this house. The courtyard is encompassed overhead by the skeleton
hull of ship which is the most noticeable signature left behind
by our "captain." From the dining table constructed from
an old olive press, the spewing Bacchus fountain, to the restored
stone-grill on which you will enjoy Betina's meat and marine delicacies,
you will enjoy many an hour relaxing, eating and drinking with family
and friends in this intriguing space.
The artistic flair and quality restoration inside the HMS Bounty
is as impressive as the outside. The house has three separate floors
and all together 90 square meters which is comfortable living space
for 4 people. (There is also enough space for a child's travel bed.)
The house is ideally located in the historical center of Betina,
in the pedestrian zone, and approximately 150 meters from the sea
and Betina's harbour. In Betina's harbour and main centre, you can
find cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, newspaper kiosks, the post-office,
an ice-cream shop and the local butcher (who comes highly recommended!)
This is also where you may park your car once you have unloaded
your belongings.
The ground floor of the HMS Bounty is entered via the majestic
courtyard. The artistic details of the kitchen dazzle the eye together
with its modern amenities. A "rowing bench" along the
back wall can accommodate dinner for four as well as provide the
dweller with the sense of sailing on the high seas. A storage closet
with a washing machine, an air-conditioner and a bathroom with WC
round-out the "hull" of the Bounty.
The bedroom on the first floor gives one the image of entering
a cabin on a cruise ship. Built in cabinets, a port-hole window
and wooden wall trimmings accentuate this room, which also has a
double bed and air-conditioning. A modern and tasteful bathroom
with shower and WC is also on this floor, all newly renovated.
Our "Captain" has again left his noticeable signature
in the bedroom on the second floor. The double bed in this room
is "crowned" with a head board painted by Ivica Propadalo
himself. One is left to decide if this room was commemorated to
"newly-weds" or to "aged married couples", in
any regard, whoever finds themselves in this room will enjoy a beautiful
view of the red-rooftops of Betina as well as spectacular orange
Dalmatian sunsets. The bedroom has plenty of space, with built-in
closets and air-conditioning, which allows room for a child's travel
bed to be set up if needed.
In Betina's harbour you can rent sailing or motorboats or organize
excursions to the Kornati Islands. Betina also has a local diving
shop which operates dives around Murter and the Kornati.
Murter offers several beaches, varying from pebble, concrete as
well as sand. The beaches on Murter are recognized as "blue
flag" beaches which signify the highest water quality seal
one receives on the Adriatic.
The house "HMS Nautilus" located a few meters away from
the "HMS Bounty " makes a holiday with friends or family
ideal. Each house offers private comfort and amenities, while offering
the ability to be right next store. If you are interested in renting
